@yunohost has now 3 apps for application.

1. Plume: github.com/YunoHost-Apps/plume
2. Writefreely: github.com/YunoHost-Apps/write
3. Osada(with Articles, Wiki and long posts): github.com/YunoHost-Apps/osada

Which is your favourite? Which features you like that is not present in other app? Which platform is ideal for blogging?

I leave these questions to be answered by our precious and enthusiastic people using

@yunohost @anmol alright, it's a pity because Movim is really active, and you could claim "4" #federated #blogging applications ;).

With some luck, SàT will be available one day there, and you could then claim 5 ^^

I learned about the existence of Osada a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure I really understand what it's about?
I thought it was sort of a Mastodon rival?

@anmol @yunohost Oooh! What do you think of Osada? It looks kinda neat! I LOVE Writefreely

@Pandora Parrot
#Hubzilla  uses #Zot protocol. Zot is different from #ActivityPub in many ways. The most remarkable feature of #Zot is #nomadic identity, by which you can take your account to new instance by exporting and importing.
But this nomadic identity is not supported in dispora, ActivityPub(Mastodon and Pleroma)  and these network are not looking in supporting it.

#Osada is move forward of Zot protocol to ZOT6 which comes in two versions. Osada by itself will support ActivityPub but loose the ability of nomadic identity and other version ZAP which will support nomadic identity but will not support ActivityPub.

So it caters all audience.  Osada will work with ActivityPub(Mastodon, Pleroma, Pixelfed, Peertube) and Osada will talk to Zap because of Zot6.

So Osada is advance version of the Hubzilla keeping in mind the large audience with different needs.

@anmol @yunohost While I am a @write_as subscriber, I have been toying around with the selfhosted option for other projects. Today was going to be a day to spin one up. I have also been curious about trying Plume and Osada's more recent development makes it very intriguing.

So, today I get to enjoy 4 new experiments in joy... Yunohost, Plume, Osada, and Writefreely. Looking forward to it all.

@anmol @yunohost After putting up some test instances on Digital Ocean, I must say that Yunohost does a great job of offering solutions for the masses even if there are some quirks (will write on that later). Was not successful so far on Plume, but it did give me a chance to test drive Funkwhale, Writefreely, Osada, et al.

Definitely helps to open eyes to the possibilities of projects as you play with them.

Not really seeing it documented, but is Osada a Hubzilla derivative? Seems to mix references.

@anmol @yunohost

Let me clarify that last part, is Osada designed to be an implementation of Hubzilla or is it a work-in-progress fork? Just for my personal mapping of the #fediverse and for what to expect ahead.

@anmol @YunoHost @Goffi @Pandora Parrot @django @Casey Keller

Osada share lot of code from Hubzilla. Osada is a solution given to users who want connectivity  through #ActivityPub . Zap can be said as real upgrade for Hubzilla(zot5 to zot6). As number of users will remain more because of connectivity given by Osada to other networks. This is the reason the name Osada was chosen over Zap.

You have option to choose between Osada or Zap from same software.

@anmol @yunohost I also wonder what plume/writefreely is like vs. WordPress?

WordPress seems too much for what I need I think
